Jefferson Avenue

When this project began, there were very few surviving elements on the interior of this 1888 Queen Anne other than the fireplace surrounds. Every room contained at least one wall of exposed brick, as the plaster had been removed from the party walls. It was the desire of the new owners to return the parlor floor from an open plan to a traditional layout, to greatly reduce the amount of exposed brick, and to reintroduce architectural details that harken back to the original building while not replicating them. The parlor floor layout was restored to have an entry foyer, a front parlor, and a rear parlor. On the top floor, the center room was converted into a dressing room in a similar fashion to the original layout, serving both bedrooms. The garden required a full intervention, as it was in a total state of neglect, and lacking a fence. A new wood fence and perimeter planting beds were installed. The paving material is river run gravel, chosen to help manage surface drainage.
